Our Story

I began my career in the awards and engraving industry years ago by accident as I was working in a different part of the business and they needed help in the awards department. I fell in love with it. I was working in a busy shop where quality mattered and I loved the work I did.
Something that has stayed with me from that time more than anything else is a plaque a customer brought in for us to remake. It hung on the wall as an example of what not to do. The plates were crooked, the engraving off, and it was scratched. I couldn’t believe a business let a customer leave with that.
After a while, I’d worked in a few other shops and built a reputation for careful work and attention to detail. Clients followed me from that first shop to my next because they trusted the quality behind my name. I learned firsthand that in this industry, it’s easy to choose speed over standards. This is when my dream of starting my own engraving and awards business started.
After stepping away from the industry for several years to focus on my family, I am finally launching the dream that stayed with me all along. Lake Marion Engraving Company exists because meaningful items deserve thoughtful craftsmanship. My promise to you is that every piece going out will be the way I’d want to receive it myself. We are a home-based family business in Santee, South Carolina. My husband and I are building this together, and while he’s still working full time as we get off the ground, the goal is for this to be something we grow into. For now, I’m running day-to-day operations and personally handling every order — which means when you place an order here, you’re getting my full attention and my full commitment to getting it right.
